Tupac biopic "All Eyez on Me" due out in summer

Tupac Shakur died almost two decades ago, and yet the rapper is still dominating the headlines. He will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 7, and his biopic "All Eyez On Me" will finally hit theaters on June 16, the day that would have marked his 46th birthday.

According to "The Hollywood Reporter", Lionsgate has acquired the U.S. rights to the film, which traces Tupac’s rise to stardom and the subsequent controversies he faced in the spotlight.

"All Eyez on Me" was directed by Benny Boom and stars Tupac doppelgänger Demetrius Shipp, Jr. in the lead role. Danai Gurira, Kat Graham, Dominic Santana, Jamal Woolard, Keith Robinson, Lauren Cohan, and Hill Harper also star.
