Apple Music follows Deezer with exclusive Bayern Munich deal

Apple Music follows Deezer with exclusive Bayern Munich deal

Exclusive promotional deals with football clubs appear to be the music-streaming industry’s new jam.

Indeed, Deezer announced partnerships with Manchester United and FC Barcelona just before Christmas, and now Apple Music is getting in on the (beautiful) game.

German champions Bayern Munich have announced an “exclusive collaboration” with Apple’s music-streaming service that will see the club curating playlists and content.

According to a press reelase:

From inspirational and uplifting songs to listen to during training to celebratory playlists post-match, there will be music for everyone to enjoy throughout the season.

The deal also makes Apple Music “Bayern Munich's music service of choice”, with one the team’s stars Mats Hummels appearing in a TV ad for Apple Music and Deutsche Telekom as part of the deal. The companies aren’t strangers to one another though: Bayern already has a deal for Beats by Dre to be its “official sound partner” for headphones and speakers.
