Ex R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe will play during the upcoming annual MoogFest; there he will debut a “never-before-seen” multimedia installation, with a new composition he wrote.
Stipe’s exhibition will consist of an “exploration of desire and movement”, using video footage that he shot in New York. It will be soundtracked by a new solo score.
According to a press release, it is the “first solo composition ever” from the R.E.M. frontman. The installation will run throughout the entire duration of the festival.
MoogFest takes place from May 18th through May 21st in Durham, North Carolina. Other artists involved this year include Animal Collective, Flying Lotus, and Jessy Lanza.
