Keith Mitchell, drummer for dreampop heroes Mazzy Star, passed away. Reporrtedly, he died on May 14 and a cause of death has yet to be unveiled.
Bandmates Hope Sandoval and David Roback issued a statement saying:
Our hearts are broken. We have lost the much beloved Keith Mitchell, a very talented and amazing drummer that we have had the privilege to work with for many years, he will live in all of our hearts forever.... We’ll miss you, Big Fella.
Mitchell joined Mazzy Star since the beginning of the group, as the band formed from the ashes of Opal (in which Mitchell also played drums). He went on to perform on all of the group’s studio albums, including their 2013 comeback "Season of Your Day", which marked the first new Mazzy Star LP in 17 years.
I really try to wake up with my music the same as I do with my life, and that is with no expectations. I just feel what I feel that day and follow itWho said it? >
