Concord Music has announced the acquisition of Savoy Label Group

Concord Music announced the acquisition of jazz and classical recorded music specialist Savoy Label Group - with all the Savoy Jazz catalogue and an extensive classical catalogue, in addition to adult rock/alternative specialists 429 Records. In total, the transaction includes more than 3,000 master recordings.

Savoy Jazz features early landmark recordings from legends such as Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Erroll Garner, Cannonball Adderley, Dexter Gordon, Fats Navarro and many, many others - plus more recent recordings by Pat Martino, Phil Woods, Etta Jones, Bill Frisell, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Larry Coryell, Andy Bey, Ravi Coltrane and Milton Nascimento.

429 Records' archive, moreover, features titles by Meat Loaf, Boz Scaggs, LL Cool J, Robbie Robertson, Joan Armatrading, Los Lobos, Macy Gray, Paul Rodgers, Little Feat, Cracker, Camper Van Beethoven, Dr. John, Mick Fleetwood, Bruce Hornsby, Roberta Flack and Joe Cocker, to name a few. SLG’s classical offerings feature works by superstar Dutch violinist Andre Rieu and artists such as the London Symphony & Philharmonic Orchestras, Berlin Symphony, Dresden Staatskapelle, Concertgebouw, Moscow and Leningrad Philharmonic Orchestras and soloists like Sviatoslav Richter and Alicia De Larrocha, among others.

Concord Music, also, has entered into a multi-year consulting and production agreement with Savoy’s former owner, Steve Vining, under which Vining may deliver new recording projects to Concord’s various labels.
