Paul Smith celebrates R.E.M. for "Automatic for the People" 's 25th anniversary

To celebrate R.E.M.'s 25th anniversary of the  album “Automatic for the People” , Paul Smith has teamed with the band to produce a special capsule collection launching on November 10, the same date as the album new release. Resorting to images photographed by Anton Corbijn and to the band's lyrics and artwork, the British designer put together a range of signature products including socks (the 'entry level' product selling from $ 35), t-shirts, scarves, and  tote bags. All items will be available both at Paul Smith's boutiques and website.

In commenting the collaboration, Paul Smith said: “I’ve known and been a fan of R.E.M. for a long time... I’ve always particularly enjoyed Michael's haunting vocals. The band is a very imaginative and artistic group of people, which makes them such exciting creative collaborators.”

The deluxe version of the album will include 4 CDs, with the original album in a Dolby Atomis remix, various unplished songs and a 1990 live concert album.
