WMG appoints new leadership team for Warner Bros Records

Warner Music Group’s new CEO of recorded music Max Lousada isn’t wasting any time making changes within the group. Cameron Strang is stepping down as chairman and CEO of WMG’s Warner Bros Records, to be replaced by current Interscope and RCA executives Aaron Bay-Schuck and Tom Corson. They’ll be co-chairman of Warner Bros, with Bay-Shuck as CEO of Warner Bros Records and Corson as COO. Strang is stepping down at the end of 2017, with his replacements’ start date yet to be confirmed. “At the cutting edge of a new generation of leaders, Aaron has impeccable taste and a rare ability to help distinctive artists grow into global superstars,” said Lousada in a statement. “Equally, Tom has a super-driven, imaginative approach to championing talent and mentoring executives, as well as a wealth of experience at both major and indie labels.” Alongside this news, Strang is stepping down from WMG’s board, while Lousada, publishing boss Jon Platt and economist Noreena Hertz are taking board positions – Hertz for the second time after a three-year stint from 2014 to 2016.
