Halloween (Live at Carnegie Hall; November 15, 2014)

Heart stops beating, all the words worth repeating
She's dancing, but not singing
Is it maybe that she doesn't know the words?
She's dressed up, but don't worry man, she's got friends
Snowflake eating, she's mildly self-defeating
And the secrets she is keeping, they're really only dangerous to her
Ships ain't sinking

And we are here to help you sing your songs
We are here to help you sing your songs
'Cause tomorrow comes and no one calls

She starts grinning when the room it starts spinning
She's losing all her winnings
She's angry, but it's just the alcohol
She's all fucked right up
That's okay, man, she's got friends

And we are here to help her sing her songs
We are here to help you sing your songs
We are here to help you sing your songs
'Cause tomorrow comes, and no one calls

This isn't Christmas, this is Chinatown and those are pretty lights
Use some make up, doll, and put 'em on your make-up dolls
A painting underneath your every smile on scene
And it's just like Christmas if it was Halloween

Someone taught her it's okay to be a martyr
Like an educated angel, be a rat
You know in all the things you love
Well, okay
Priceless pictures, she's collected iceless fixtures
That are freezing from the people
She's chosen to help her through it all
Okay, whatever

We are here to help you sing your songs
We are here to help you sing your songs
We are here to help you sing your songs
'Cause tomorrow's gonna come
Tomorrow's gonna come, and no one's gonna call

Yeah, this... my harmonica's, my harmonica's loose
The best possible thing that can happen though
Is that the screw on this right side does come undone
When I go for the haronica solo
'Cause it's only happened once
And what actually happens, it's incredible
It literally just goes "pfftt" and so not only do I
And it usually happens with the first note dying
So it goes like"whaaa" then it goes "pow"
And then it like hits the guitar
And it's so loud

And then I, and then I just have to play the instrumental part
'Cause I'm, I'm like being in my own band at that moment
It's like you lost a member
And you just have to keep the song going
But it's also just like hanging there
So, it usually will just about hit the E string
Which is musically not correct
The onl... the musical note for that is "fuck"
It's really, really high up above the scale
And usually in boldface letters and written in a Sharpie
And I don't have a Sharpie right now
Anyway, all right
You can't steal that it's mine
That's my job
