Thurston Moore's "Benediction" on Letterman

Underground icon and Sonic Youth's deus ex machina Thurston Moore on Wednesday night was on the Late Show with David Letterman to promote his solo work - in particular his latest album "Demolished Thoughts".

Relaxed and confident, Thurston played the track "Benediction", also accompanied by a violinist and a harp. A soft track, romantic and melancoholic, showing a side that many of his fans really don't know: after all this is the man who is behind many of the noisiest records of the Eighties and the nineties.

Moore's "Demolished Thoughts" is his third solo effort  - following "Psychic Hearts" (1995) and "Trees Outside The academy" (2007) - and it came out on May 2011. It was was produced by Beck Hansen and recorded in 2010 in Massachusetts and Los Angeles; the title is taken from the words of a song by hardcore legends The Faith.
