Van Halen try to ban cover of "Jump"

Comedian Ricky Gervais revealed that Van Halen have tried to ban a cover of their song "Jump" recorded by television star Karl Pilkington.

According to english newspaper The Sun, Van Halen are so unimpressed with Pilkington's rendition of the track (performed with an American chorus group for the latest series of his show "An Idiot Abroad") that they are preventing it from being screened in America or included on the programme's DVD. But it will air in the UK.

Gervais also told that Pilkington had been suffering from nerves before the performance and that he had forgotten the song's words. He said: "Van Halen are trying to put a stop on it, because it is that bad. But Sky have got a blanket agreement so we can put it out in England. But we can't put it out in America or on the DVD".
