The 'Bon Jovi is dead' hoax

Yesterday a fake press release spread on the Internet the news that Jon Bon Jovi was dead from a heart attack. It claimed he was rushed to Jersey Shore Medical Center (sic) and that hundreds of reporters gathered outside to await "word on his condition".
From the Web page of the fake press release, users have "liked" the page over 10,000 times on Facebook and tweeted it over 600 times. The resulting buzz it generated on Twitter has made "Bon Jovi" a trending topic.

After a few hours a rep of the rocker told the press Jon is alive and well and the news was a hoax. The singer also posted on Facebook a funny picture of him showing a banner saying: “Heaven looks a lot like New Jersey”.
