Elton John confirms movie based on his life

Elton John confirmed the project of a movie based on his life to be "very much in the works". John teamed with his partner (David Furnish) and Lee Hall to put the biopic - provisionally titled "Rocket Man" - together.

"We have a director on board, and then it's just going to be a matter of getting the script exactly the way we want it. Lee Hall has written a script – he wrote Billy Elliot – and then we'll start trying to cast and plan" said John.

The 64-year-old star added that Justin Timberlake was his first choice to portray him on the big screen. "I've got a wish list of people. Number one on my wishlist is Justin Timberlake, because he played me before in a David LaChapelle video of 'Rocket Man' and he was superb".

John and Furnish will produce the film, that was described by John as a "jukebox musical" telling the story of his rise to fame and including many of his biggest hits.
