Metallica are working on a 3d film

Metallica have confirmed they are working on a 3D film. The Four Horsemen posted a statement on their official website declaring that rumours they were involved with a new movie project were true, although they warned fans not to expect the finished product until 2013.

The band, who said they normally declined to "comment on gossip or rumours", said: "We're here to tell you that, yes, there is indeed a 3D project in the very early stages of production! We wish we could tell you more right now, but we don't have all the finer points nailed down just yet". They went on to add: "What we can tell you is that we are planning on being in a theatre near you sometime in 2013 and as you hear us say ever so often, this will be the space for all the details as we finalize them".

Metallica will play a headline slot at next summer's Download Festival as well as a series of other large European shows, playing their fifth album, widely known as "The Black Album", in its entirety.
