Jay Reatard's death second anniversary

On January, 13 of 2010 Jay Reatard (born Jimmy Lee Lindsey Jr) was found dead in his Memphis home. He was 29 and among the most talented musicians in the indie-punk rock scene.
According to an official statement by Shelby County Medical Examiner Dr. Karen E. Chancellor, the musician died of “cocaine toxicity" and "alcohol was a contributing factor in his death”.

With a discography of 22 albums and more singles than even he could keep accurate count of, Mr. Lindsey was a creative tornado. His aesthetic was deliberately rough, but his facility with sweet melodies and his concise, economical songwriting style earned him wide respect among critics and fans.

Directors Alex Hammond and Ian Markiewicz filmed a documentary called "Better Than Something: Jay Reatard" and completed shortly after Lindsey's death. It's an intimate portrait of Jay's short life, with rarely seen live footage, interviews with friends, and never-before-seen conversations with the musician himself.
