Flaming Lips reclute Yoko Ono, Bon Iver & more

The Flaming Lips are working on their new album with an intriguing bunch of special guests. The frontman Wayle Coyne has revealed that the Oklahoma has been joined by Yoko Ono, Nick Cave, Bon Iver and more.

According to Rolling Stone, also Ke$ha, Lykke Li and Erykah Badu gave their contribution to the new record. Coyne confirmed that he had already recorded collaborations with Cave and the Plastic Ono Band for the record, while Justin Vernon had signed on to be part of the project.

The Flaming Lips frontman stated: "All these things happen within a couple of days. You set up these collaborations in your mind and immediately get to work. Sometimes it just takes a matter of connecting".

As far as Ke$ha, Coyne apparently wants to realize some “weird rap” with her, also stating how similar the two are, in that they’re both “freaks”.
