New Mars Volta abum out in March

Now we can say we have a title and a release date. The Mars Volta will hit the stores with their new album "Noctourniquet" on March 26. The confirmation comes from the band itself.

The record, the sixth studio effort from the group, will feature songs like "The Whip Hand", "Dyslexicon" and "In absentia". Previously, The Mars Volta stated that they didn't want to put out any new material in 2012. They've changed their mind, clearly.

Guitarist Omar Rodríguez-López and singer Cedric Bixler-Zavala are preparing themselves for a workaholic year: the two musicians have also confirmed the reunion of their former band At The Drive-In. The group split in 2001 after the release of the successfully record "Relationship of command".

Talking about the future of The Mars Volta, Rodríguez-López has confessed that he's planning to change his approach to the band. "I want to collaborate more. I've had 10 years of kind of being a benign dictator in this band and I want to make it more like a democracy", he stated.
