Who will dominate 2012? NME has the answer

Popular UK magazine NME has unveiled a list of the 20 most exciting new bands of 2012. According to NME, Grimes (in the picture) will be the the highest promising band of the year. Grimes are actually not a band, but a creature of the mysterious Claire Boucher. Her electro pop is really intriguing, we can confirm that.

Reading the last we can find the London-based indie sensations Spector at second spot, while we find new rap prodigy A$AP Rocky at third and DZ Deathrays at 4. At 5 we find Howler, that the magazine defines "2012's answer to The Strokes". Quite a strong definition, isn't that?

At 10 there's the new XL artist Willis Earl Beal, while at 12 there's the young and incredibly promising King Krule. If you read Rockol.com, at 15 you will find a group we have already talked you about: Alabama Shakes.

Will NME be right? Difficult to say. According to BBC Sounds of 2012, for example we will have to take a deep look at Michael Kiwanuka, Frank Ocean and Azealia Banks. In 2013 we will say who was right. See you in a year.
