Jack White announces his solo debut: listen

Jack White has announced his new record and single. The ex-White Stripes star will release his new effort "Blunderbuss" on April 23. The first excerpt, titled "Love interruption" will be out on February 7 on his own label Third Man Records/XL Recordings/Columbia.

After a long time of musical silence and his band's break up last year, Mr.White has now decided to come back with a collection of songs that, according to his own words, were written recently and during an "accidental" session.

Talking to BBC Radio 1, he stated: "I didn't really even think of recording under my own name for a long time, I thought 'I've got the rest of my life to do that".

You can listen to "Love interruption", the first taste of his new record, right here via Jack White's official YouTube account. The background vocals in the song are from Nashville singer Ruby Amanfu. Enjoy.

After the announcement of The White Stripes' split up that arrived in February Jack White has collaborated with many artists at his Third Man Records label, working with people such as Insane Clown Posse and Tom Jones.
