Rockol exclusive: Jon Landau on 'Wrecking Ball'

"Bruce Springsteen has never been so explicitly political as in 'Wrecking Ball'", told us Jon Landau, manager of The Boss. We met him in Paris, while there for a press conference on Springsteen's new album, set to be out on March, 5.
Landau - who, in his days as a music critic wrote the iconic phrase: "I saw the future of rock and roll and its name is Bruce Springsteen" - told about this new effort and gave us a few details on the upcoming tour.

"With this album", he said, "Bruce wanted to make sure that everyone could clearly get his point on the current situation of the USA. He's really specific and focused on something he knows very well - he wouldn't be so hard if he didn't perfectly know what he's talking about".

Talking about the tour, Landau said: "Rehearsals are absolutely great, the band is in top form. I think 'Wrecking Ball' will be the main course during this tour, and then Bruce will dig out songs from his archives. 'The Seeger Sessions'? Mmhh... maybe a couple of tracks would fit perfectly. Music-wise I see a strong connection and they could be the link between the new album and the older stuff. For me 'Wrecking Ball' is like 'The Seeger Sessions', but with songs by Bruce. Originals, but in that folk vein".
