A box set of lost material for Can

Can, the kings of krautrock will soon delight their dedicated fans all over the world with a three-cd box set of never released recording, via Mute Records. The collection, titled "The Lost Tapes" is set to be out on June, 18 in Europe and June, 19 in the USA.

"The Lost Tapes" will feature both studio and live material and soundtrack works for movies that were never released: the tracks range from 1968-1977 and feature Holger Czukay (bass), Michael Karoli (guitar), Jaki Liebezeit (drums), Irmin Schmidt (keyboards), and vocals by both Malcolm Mooney and Damo Suzuki.

The box was compiled selecting over 30 hours of unreleased music that emerged from the recording studio of Can, in Weilerswist, Germany, whil it was being disassembled to be moved to the German Rock N Pop Museum in Gronau, Germany.
The release was curated by Schmidt and Mute's Daniel Miller, and compiled by Schmidt and collaborator Jono Podmore, who also edited the collection.
