Listen to a track from Sonic Youth's upcoming live album

Sonic Youth's future as a band, after the divorce between Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore, is uncertain. But their present is steady and busy with an archival project to bring back to light some lost gems of their past.
The first instalment of this will be the live album called "Smart Bar - Chicago 1985", set to be put on November 13.
To promote the release the band just posted online a cut of the live recording: "Intro/Brave Men Run (In My Family)" (originally in their 1985 album "Bad Moon Rising").

This live will be available on double vinyl lp, cd and digital formats via the band's own Goofin' Records. It was recorded on a four-track cassette by some fans who were following Sonic Youth at the time. The album comes with liner notes from Matador co-owner Gerard Cosloy and the band's longtime engineer Aaron Mullan, as well as photos by Pat Blashill and Steven Koress.
