"Guitar music is coming back", in Britain?

Two of the radio moguls of the British enteratinment and music scene - Kiss programme director Andy Roberts and Radio 1 and 1Xtra head of music George Ergatoudis - agree that guitar music might soon come back, at least in the British charts.

Andy Roberts said to Music Week magazine: "We're probably waiting for guitars to come back". And he explained that mainstream British music tastes have been "going through a Euro pop phase", something that could soon come to an end. "The last time we had [this] we had Whigfield and Corona", he added. "I remember that as a kid and something came, the guitar stuff - Oasis and Blur. We're due guitars [again] but I think they'll be a fusion of something we'll all be able to play".

George Ergatoudis posted a response to Roberts via Twitter and he wrote: "Interesting.Kiss boss@RadioAndy in@Music_Week: 'We're probably waiting for guitars to come back'. Guitar music is definitely on the way back".

So, are we going to get - soon - a good dose of British heavy rock? We'll see!
