AC/DC's iTunes debut: first week's sales

Without fanfare or a marketing campaign, AC/DC landed on iTunes on November 19, finally allowing their whole catalogue (25 albums plus two exclusive boxsets) to be sold by Apple's digital store.

During their first week on iTunes - according to Nielsen SoundScan - they registered 48,000 album downloads wand 696,000 song download in the U.S. An impressive result, if we think Led Zeppelin - in the week they became available on iTunes, in 2007 - moved 47,000 albums and 300,000 single songs.

AC/DC's most downloaded album, so far, has been the band's mega-classic "Back in Black" with 15,000 copies; following we find "Highway to Hell" (a little under 5,000), "Live at River Plate" (4,000), "High Voltage" (under 3,000) and "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" (2,000).
The most downloaded song has been "Thunderstruck", selling 85,000 and reaching number 16 on Digital Songs and No. 1 on Hard Rock Digital Songs.
