R.i.p. music executive Bill Schrank

Music executive Bill Schrank, a 30-year veteran of the industry, died in Los Angeles on December 12 due to complications from a stroke. He was 60: a native of Albuquerque, New Mexico, he attended the University of New Mexico

He coordinated soundtracks at such studios as Warner Bros., Paramount, Disney and Columbia Pictures; during his career in the music biz, Schrank lent his experience and talent to build some of the more memorable soundtracks, including those for "The Bodyguard", "The Big Chill", "Ghostbusters", "Against All Odds", "The Karate Kid" and "Stand by Me". 

Schrank is survived by his partner of 35 years, music executive Paul Cooper. A memorial service will be announced.
