Joan Jett: new album 'Unvarnished' is on its way

It's been seven years since Joan Jett released her last album (2006's "Sinner"), but now the wait is coming to an end.
The ex Runaways, indeed, will have her latest studio effort out in a short time: it's called "Unvarnished" and it features ten tracks - with appearances from Dave Grohl and Against Me!’s Laura Jane Grace.

The singer/guitarist explained it's her most autobiographical work to date: "I’m in a different part of my life", Jett recently told in an interview. "The songs aren’t all sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll. There comes a time when you have to go through stuff. For me — this isn’t very uplifting – but I call it the decade of death, losing people, companion animals very close to me, my parents, really heavy things".

Joan Jett (accompanied by her Blackhearts) will debut the album’s first single, "Any Weather", on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on August 8th.
