Tim Wright (DNA, Pere Ubu) is dead

Tim Wright, co-founder and bassist of seminal Cleveland band Pere Ubu and then of New York's  no wave masters DNA, is dead. Reportedly, he died on Sunday August 4 from unreleased causes.

Wright was Pere Ubu from the beginning, in 1975, after the dissolution of Rocket From The Tombs, and was a member of the band for three years.
He played bass on their first legendary singles ("Final solution" above all) before leaving the band in 1978 to relocate in New York and join DNA.
DNA (formed by Arto Lindsay and Robin Crutchfield ) were among the most important players in New York's no wave movement: they were featured in the film "Downtown 81" (which also starred Jean-Michel Basquiat) and in the milestone compilation "No New York", assembled by Brian Eno.
