PledgeMusic hires Julian Huntly as Global Head of Catalogue
PledgeMusic announced hiring Julian Huntly (ex. Virgin Records, EMI, UMG) as Global Head of Catalogue.

The company is one of the most popular music fan funding platforms, allowing fans to pledge towards artists' upcoming releases and witness the evolution of the projects online.

Most of company's campaigns right now involve new releases, but a string of successful projects for re-releases and box sets (B B King, REEF) showed that catalogue releases could be an exciting area of expansion for the company.

On top of allowing a label or independent artist to gauge interest in a re-release project it also gives them the opportunity to operate within a known budget and place manufacturing orders according to demand. Through the platform's pledging options bands can also offer fans one-off products or special live opportunities that would allow them to maximise earnings on the project and re-ignite interest in the band (especially when a string of live dates is attached to the project).
