Peter Sunde arrested in Sweden after 2 years on the run, faces 8 months in jail

Peter Sunde, the co-founder of the Pirate Bay, has been arrested during a raid by the police in Southern Sweden.

The details are still scarce - TorrentFreak picked up on the news from a report of the Swedish newspaper Expressen. The newspaper reports that the arrest has been confirmed by Swedish authorities.

Sunde - who is now 35 - had been living in Berlin after being sentenced by a Swedish court to 8 months in jail. Two of his co-founders, Gottfried Svartholm and Carl Lundstron, served their sentence already whilst Fredrik Neij is still at large.

Sunde’s attempts to fight the ruling at the European Court of Human Rights and at the Swedish Supreme Court were been rejected, so it looks like there’s little he can do now but serve his sentence.
