Crowdfunding platform Musicraiser closes €350k round to expand into the UK

Musicraiser, a new crowdfunding platform based in Italy, has closed a €350k funding round from B-ventures, Key Capital Partners as well as private investors to expand to the UK.

The website went live at the beginning of 2013 and is specifically geared towards music projects. In the 18 months since going live its users have raised over a million Euros in funding across 214 recording projects, 22 events, 23 videos and 13 other projects.

Musicraiser works similarly to Kickstarter in the sense that Artists need to raise 100% of their goal in order to receive the money. This differs from the stance of Pledge Music - a very strong music crowdfunding player in the UK - that decided to allow musicians to pursue the project with whatever funds they can raise through the campaign.

Musicraiser is based in Milan but may soon open up shop in London, check out MusicRaiser.com for more information.
