Ticketmaster takes over Sherpa.be in Belgium

Concert-tickets juggernaut Ticketmaster has not completed world domination yet.

It has acquired Sherpa.be, the Belgian ticketing company based in Brussels. Sherpa.be, which reports an annual turnover of about €55 million, will be added to Ticketmaster’s current Belgian subsidiary, a division set up at the start of this year.

Sherpa.be was co-founded by entrepreneur Hubert Laterre, who is staying on as chairman of Ticketmaster Belgium and will work with managing director Didier Decaestecker.

Sherpa.be made an impression on Ticketmaster for its success in selling tickets for major Belgian events, gigs and festivals for promoters like Live Nation, which is also Ticketmaster’s parent company.

Ticketmaster has operations in 13 European markets.
