iHeartRadio soon to release app for Android Wear smartwatches

iHeartRadio announced the launch of a new for Android Wear smartwatches, to be released on October 15. This is the company's first move into the new wearables market and - according to iHeartRadio and iHeartMedia Networks president Darren Davis - it will be a central part of the company's strategy looking forward. "Wearables aren't huge yet, but people are talking a lot about them, so it is a good place for us to be," he commented.

iHeartRadio, moreover, is the very first music partner for Android Wear (a company owned by Google).

With the new app, basically, you wilbe able to use the watch as a remote control, but you will still need to plug headphones into your smartphone to listen to music; the watch will include controls to create new stations using voice search, access favourites and thumbs up or down songs that come on.
