IFPI, the global music-industry trade organisation, has appointed Dr David Price to be the new head of anti-piracy research and analysis.

Price’s most recent post was at NetNames, the international online brands-protection agency, where he was director of piracy and counterfeit analysis.

With a PhD doctorate degree from Cambridge University, he has made a name for himself as an in-demand analyst of trends in and the consequences of digital piracy.

He is the author of several related studies, including Behind The Cyberlocker Door: A Report on How Shadowy Cyberlocker Businesses Use Credit Card Companies to Make Millions, and Sizing the Piracy Universe.
