Bono apologizes for U2's album release via Apple: “Oops… I’m sorry about that”

U2's frontman Bono, during a Q&A session whoch took place on the band's official Facebook page, was confronted with a pretty tough question going: "Can you please never release an album on iTunes that automatically downloads to people’s playlists ever again? It’s really rude". Obviously the fan was referring to "Songs Of Innocence" released as a free gift via Apple - a git you simply had to accept, since you didn't have the choice to say "no thanx".

The answer was - to a certain extent - surprising. Bono, indeed, looking pretty concerned and sombre, said: "Oops … I’m sorry about that. I had this beautiful idea… might have gotten carried away with ourselves. Artists are prone to that thing. A drop of megalomania, a touch of generosity, a dash of self-promotion, and deep fear that these songs that we poured our life into over the last few years might not be heard. There’s a lot of noise out there. I guess, we got a little noisy ourselves to get through it".
