UK DJ refines promotion for EDM with new music app Inflyte

Paul Hamill (pictured), the British DJ/producer and former presenter at UK public broadcaster BBC, is spearheading a new music-promotion app aimed at the electronic dance music (EDM) sector.

He and his business partner, technology developer Paul McConnon, have launched Inflyte, a mobile system that enables labels to send promotional editions of new EDM releases directly to the mobile devices of DJs, radio programmers plus music reviewers and journalists.

Once stored on the smartphones, it can be cached and listened to offline, any time and on any other digital device.

The Belfast-based music-and-technology company behind Inflyte says this groundbreaking, user-friendly mobile platform will allow EDM creators and their publicity companies to send promo content direct to all the relevant professions for instant, efficient feedback.

Mark Pritchard, a member of the UK-based Association of Electronic Music (AFEM), says, “Electronic music is continually pushing the boundaries of technology and music. AFEM is attracting organisations that are well-established pivotal players, through to exciting and dynamic new ventures such as Inflyte. It’s great to have Paul and his company on board and demonstrates our commitment to bringing all aspects of our genre together to take collective action.”

Inflyte is being co-funded by Techstart NI, the start-up investment initiative in Northern Ireland that is managed by tech-investment firm Pentech Ventures. Pentech has backed London-based music-analytics company Musicmetric and has successfully exited music-streaming service We7 (which became the Tesco-owned streaming service Blinkbox Music).
