The Black Keys go toe-to-toe with Nardwuar the Human Serviette — watch

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, indie music fans both young and old, our next bout is one for the ages!

In the corner to my left, they hail originally from Akron, Ohio. They’re known for their love of blitzing, two-man blues rock and deeply cutting and overly snarky comments on a parade of stars from Justin Bieber to Jack White. If they don’t break your spirits, they’ll blow out your ear drums: Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney of The Black Keys!

And in the corner to my right, he hails from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. In his career, he’s gone toe-to-toe with a legion of musical greats: He’s made Pharrell Williams blush; pissed off Jello Biafra; and nearly come to blows with Kid Cudi. He may be called “The Human Serviette”, but he’s the one serving up the journalistic blows: Nardwuar!

Let’s get ready to ruuuuuuuummmmbbbbbllllleeeee!

~

OK, so the new interview featuring both Black Keys isn’t exactly the Thrilla in Manila of rock ‘n’ roll journalism, but it’s exciting nonetheless. Nardwuar hits ‘em hard and hits ‘em fast, pummeling the duo with questions about their Blakroc LP, their beef with Onyx, Carney’s prevalency for Twitter feuds, the history of Ohio music, and whether people should actually care about The Black Keys, among other topics. There may have been no dynamic TKO ending, but everyone seemed happy to touch gloves at the end.

Watch it below.
