Taylor Swift's '1989' earns biggest sales week of any album in 12 years

Taylor Swift's sales for her fifth studio album 1989 are out of the woods and out of this world, particularly during the modern age of YouTube, digital downloads and streaming.

Swift sold 1.287 million copies from Oct. 27 to Nov. 2, making 1989 the first and only album released in 2014 to earn platinum status, the million-copies-sold milestone
