ILMC Bursary Scheme aims to develop next-generation concert promoters

Organisers of London-based ILMC (International Live Music Conference) have launched an annual Bursary Scheme designed to nurture executive talent in the live-music sector.

Aimed at young professionals and start-up companies, and supported by Robertson Taylor W&P Longreach, the global insurance broker for concert tours, the scheme offers a minimum of 10 delegate places at next year’s event, which takes place 6-8 March 2015.

To qualify to be an ILMC member and attend its flagship yearly events, which bring together the great and the good in live-entertainment promotion, a delegate has needed to be nominated by two existing members.

The new initiative plans to attract the attention of aspiring live-music executives who have never attended ILMC before and offer them the opportunity to participate in next year’s conference and network.

ILMC head Greg Parmley, who took the reins of the organisation earlier this year, says: “It’s designed to encourage younger companies and individuals who have not yet been to the conference, but who should be attending and who have a voice to add to the mix.”

Some of the places available will be distributed exclusively via agreements with selected industry associations. These include Yourope, the Association of Independent Festivals (AIF), the International Music Manager Forum (IMMF) and the UK’s Music Managers Forum (MMF).

The Bursary Scheme’s applicants have to complete the usual nomination process for ILMC membership. To find out more about how to qualify and apply, click here.
