Morrissey plans new album, while Johnny Marr cancels US tour

Despite the troubled story behind the release of "World Peace is None of Your Business" (which came out less than one year ago), it seems Morrissey is now planning to record soon its follow-up. The news was broken during an interview with Serbia’s B92 in which Moz revealed that he has written his next album and hopes to record it in February.

At the moment the ex Smiths singer is touring Europe to promote "World Peace is None of Your Business", which upon its release saw a huge fight between Morrissey and his then-label Harvest. After some litigation the label dropped Morrissey and removed his latest album from its catalogue.

Morrissey is also keeping on having troubled gigging experiences (his cancelled tours made the headlines multiple times during the last year). He recently reshuffled his itinerary to include new dates in Athens and Istanbul, but also postponing shows in Holland until 2015.
On a similar note, ex Moz colleague in The Smiths - guitar player Johnny Marr - was forced to cancel the remainder of his US tour (ten dates) due to a "serious close family illness".
