Dave Grohl is the Ambassador for Record Store Day 2015

Record Store Day 2015 has its own Ambassador: this year the event's main face and most important spokesperson is Dave Grohl, main man behind the Foo Fighters (but also ex Nirvana drummer).

Grohl's first public statement, after being named Ambassador for RSD 2015, is a video posted on YouTube in which he shows the original copy of an album that changed his life: K-Tel's "Blockbuster 20 Original Hits By The Original Stars" and explains that the track that kickstarted his passion for music was Edgar Winter's instrumental "Frankenstein".
"This is what made me want to join a band, jump on stage and play music. If it weren't for that record store, don't think I'd be here today" the rocker tells. "I think it's important for everyone, kids and adults, to celebrate that kind of discovery by going into a little record store in your town that you've never been before and spend some time there and discover stuff you never knew existed because those discoveries can wind-up changing your life. And it's important that these places survive. And that they've there for the next generation to go in and hopefully do the same thing".

Record Store Day 2015 will take place on April 18, worldwide.
