Third Man to release single of The White Stripes covering Loretta Lynn... and more

Third Man Records unveiled the content of its Vault Package number 24 (the special package available only for the members of the label's subscription series of releases)... and it's Loretta Lynn a go-go for all!

The package's leading item is a white vinyl 7" single by the now disbanded duo The White Stripes, with two Loretta Lynn covers: "Rated X" (originally intended to be a B-side to their cover of Dolly Parton's "Jolene") and "Whispering Sea" (recorded live at the Gorge Amphitheater in George, Washington, in August 2005).

Subscribers will also get, in the package, a deluxe edition vinyl reissue of her 2004 Jack White-produced album "Van Lear Rose" (pressed on gold vinyl and comes in a fancy sleeve featuring gold foil embossing), an exclusive DVD featuring new interviews with White and Lynn, plus more archival footage, a custom foil-stamped and embossed postcard, unused photos from the album's artwork sessions and an enamel rose pin.
