Spotify bring its Running feature to Android devices

Spotify this week has introduced the much-loved Running feature - so far only available to iOS users - to its Android app. 

The feature enables users to choose from a selection of specially-composed playlists that are sped up or slowed down according to their running pace, users can also ask Spotify to feed them tracks based on their listening history - again these will be tracks that match the users’ current running pace. 

The Running feature - together with the Discover Weekly playlist feature - spawns from Spotify’s acquisition of The Echo Nest, a Boston-based company that spent years dissecting and analysing music, and is a step in the right direction as the company seeks to differentiate itself from competitors such as Apple Music, Tidal and Deezer.
