PledgeMusic turns 6 years old, founder shares company’s stats

PledgeMusic turned six this year, so the company's founder and CEO Benji Rogers decided to celebrate the milestone by sharing some interesting stats on the company in a blog post

PledgeMusic now has over 1 million people with accounts on the site, spending an average of $55 per transaction. 87% of targeted campaigns by emerging artists hit their projected goal, this figure is 90% when frontline artists are involved. 

The PledgeMusic audience is very keen receiving something tangible from the artists they support, with 88% of buyers choosing a physical product - and CDs are still best-selling medium, followed by vinyl. 

Pledge artists create over 400 original pieces of content per week to be shared with their PledgeMusic fanbase via the site and, increasingly, the mobile app. 

Finally, the PledgeMusic audience is a community of music lovers, which means that they often end up Pledging for projects by new artists, this is demonstrated by the fact that 10% of pre-sales are generated via the company’s recommendation engine. 

The space PledgeMusic occupies is quite unique given its pin-sharp focus on music, and the company’s commitment to developing a long-lasting relationship between artists and fans is at the core of the music industry’s next stage of evolution, which should bode well for its future.
