David Bowie’s farewell album “Blackstar” has made its debut on the top spot of the album charts in almost all major music markets in the world, including the US, UK, Italy, Germany, France, Australia, New Zealand and Ireland.

In the US, it sold 181,000 album equivalent units. Bowie’s best-of collection “Nothing Has Changed” also entered the chart at N.4.

In the UK, Bowie’s new album sold close to 150,000 copies, and his albums overall made up 25% of the week’s sales, shifting 241,000 albums in total. “Nothing Has Changed” was the second-highest Bowie entry at N.5. In addition, 13 Bowie tracks entered the UK Top 100. Heroes was the highest-charting one at N.12.  Bowie’s “Blackstar” and Elvis Presley’s “If I can deam” orchestral release helped push Adele’s “25” to N.3 after close to three months at the top.
