New York City declares January 20th as David Bowie Day

New York City will declare today, January 20th 2016, "David Bowie Day". 

According to Bowie's Facebook page, New York City major Bill de blasio will read the proclamation during the curtain call of the final performance of "Lazarus", the New York Theater Workshop production conceived and co-created by Bowie.

September 23, 2014 was David Bowie Day in Chicago.

Bowie’s final album ? (Blackstar) debuted at No. 1 in 69 countries, including his first-ever No. 1 album in the US.  ? was released on the musician’s 69th birthday.
