White Stripes to release their 2011 Peel sessions plus other bonus material

On April 16, for Record Store Day 2016, Third Man Records (Jack White's label) will release a White Stripes vinyl called "Peel sessions" - featuring the recordings of performances that the band did in the radio studios of the BBC between July and November 15 years ago, shortly before delivering to market the album "White blood cells".

The sessions have already been bootlegged over the years and feature material both from "White blood cells" and "De Stijl", plus covers of Dolly Parton ("Jolene"), Gene Vincent ("Baby blue") and MC5 ("Looking at you").

The "Peel sessions" will reach the market in the form of double coloured vinyl: red and white (of course). By the end of the year, however, it will be released also on black vinyl. Among the publications of Third Man Records for Record Store Day is noted also a 45 rpm colored green containing Jack White's cover of "You are the sunshine of my life", a song originally performed by Stevie Wonder. However, this rarity will only be available in the shops of Third Man in Nashville and Detroit.
