John Lennon's killer Mark Chapman won't be out on parole

Mark David Chapman, the man who shot and killed ex Beatle John Lennon on December 8, 1980, asked to be put on parole; his request was refused by a special three-man committee for an unspecified reason earlier this week. He'll be eligible again in two years.

According to earlier reports by the "New York Daily News", five letters recommending his parole this year had been received by the board. But the paper also said Yoko Ono had written to oppose it. This was the ninth time Chapman was asking for parole.

Two years ago the killer, during his previous hearing, claimed to have found Jesus and said he was an “idiot” for killing Lennon, according to CNN. He also said he was “confused” and “needed a lot of attention at that time, and I took it out on him".
