Al Jarreau Dead at 76

R&B/jazz singer Al Jarreau has died. He was 76 years old: a cause of death has not yet been revealed, but the artist had been recently hospitalized “due to exhaustion”.

In the 1960s, Jarreau sang with George Duke at a San Francisco nightclub and by 1975, he released his debut album, "We Got By". Two years later, his record "Look to the Rainbow" earned him his first Grammy nomination and win for Best Jazz Vocal Performance.

In total, Jarreau won seven Grammys, taking home awards in the jazz, R&B, and pop categories.
