Sony/ATV acquired 1,500 songs from Luc Besson’s EuropaCorp

Paris based movie production and distribution house EuropaCorp, co-founded by Luc Besson and Pierre-Ange Le Pogam, has sold a 1,500 music song catalogue  to Sony/ATV. The copyrights – covering over 100 movie soundtracks– were bought by Sony/ATV for €14.55 million, subjected to further rise by €2 million depending on results.

Scores from the Taken trilogy and from artists like Massive Attack, Archive and Eric Serra are included in the catalogue. The deal also implies Sony/ATV administering all EuropaCorp’s music royalties for future TV and movie titles.
