U2 preview new song “The Blackout” - STREAM

It seems that Irish rockers U2 are finally ready to release their new album, "Songs of Experience".

The signal is a fresh preview, which came via social media in the form of “The Blackout”, a new song steep in political undertones. "Statues fall, democracy is flat on its back/ We had it all and what we had is not coming back", frontman Bono sings at one point, in reference to recent events in the US and UK. He goes on: “The big mouth says the people, they don’t wanna be free for free/ The Blackout, is visiting such an event we see”.

The song premiered in the form of a live performance video streamed on Facebook.

"Songs of Experience" is U2’s 14th studio album and it's the sequel to 2014’s "Songs of Innocence". The album’s first proper single, “You’re the Best Thing About Me”, is set for release on September 6th.
