FUGA opens first office in Italy and signs Reverbnation

Good news for FUGA, the technology and services company for international rightsholders. Its year, indeed, kicked-off with new hires in London, Milan and New York, new offices and a series of new clients.

The Amsterdam and New York-based digital distributor, has opened premises in London’s Tileyard Studios to accommodate the growing team. Plus, FUGA has just opened its first office in Milan. The opening has accompanied a raft of new Italian clients, including Undamento, home to rapper Coez, one of Italy’s biggest artists last year. Other leading local labels Ala Bianca and Hukapan have also signed with FUGA for worldwide distribution. The Milan office will be headed up by Italy MD Lorenzo Grignani, with Massimo Reali as digital label and promotions manager for Italy, both joining from Sounday.

Moreover, in the US, the digital distributor has signed up multiple new clients, including ReverbNation, the distribution and services platform for emerging artists, serving millions of musicians across the globe. FUGA has also inked a deal with indie label Mom + Pop Music, home to Grammy nominee Courtney Barnett and future bass pioneer Flume.

Meanwhile, the New York team has been bolstered by two new hires; former Beatport A&R Gavin Pomerantz, who will be managing promotions in the region and Daniel Komanoff in the role of technical account manager.

This international expansion follows the pledge of six million euros (five million pounds) from the Dutch company’s shareholders last October and a strong period of financial growth for the distributor.
